Volodymyr Klitschko: who does Orbán think was responsible for the Bucha massacre?

Volodymyr Klitschko gave an interview to Válasz Online, an independent Hungarian media outlet. Unlike his brother, the former professional boxer has not been involved in politics up until now. He identifies himself as an activist. However, he has a strong opinion about the war in Ukraine and Hungary’s role.

Klitschko said he did not want to interfere in politics, but he felt the need to call people’s attention to a so-called loyalty bond that binds Hungary to Russia. In an interview with Válasz Online, the former boxer brought up the international post-election press conference held by Viktor Orbán in which the Hungarian PM did not name anybody responsible for the Bucha massacres; responding to that he burst out:

Who does he think did that? Who invaded whom? Maybe we brought it on ourselves? Did we murder our own citizens just to show that to the world while blaming another country?

Bucha was a clear message from the Russian president.

We, Ukrainians have been victims of his aggression for 50 days. If anybody turns a blind eye to that and acts as if nothing happened, he takes part passively in the war, and there is blood on his hands” – Klitschko told passionately to Válasz Online.

The former Ukrainian boxer champion has visited Bucha and revealed what the Russians mean under special military operation is, in fact, the dreadful massacre of Ukrainians – 24.hu informs us.

Young people lay on the streets. A tank ran over the car of a family. Their limbs were still in the vehicle. Others wear traces of torture on their body. Many had headshots. I do not want to recall all the horrid scenes I saw, but there is evidence of their crimes. Those images, that smell…

– he exclaimed in the interview.

Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, is a member of the UDAR party which merged with Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s rival, Petro Poroshenko’s party, in 2015. Despite that, the Klitschko brothers rallied behind the Ukrainian president at the beginning of the war.

Volodymyr Klitschko said there are no sides one should take during these critical times, after all, they are all Ukrainians. “This is our home, and we will protect it no matter which political party we belonged to earlier. The fight for freedom unites us. A part of our childhood was spent in the Soviet Union listening to the brainwashing propaganda that the whole world was our enemy, but I eventually grew up in the west. This dual experience always helped me to find my way. I know what it means that you can wear and say what you want.

Freedom is priceless, and it is worth fighting for.

He believes that after the war, Ukraine will be stronger than ever. However, the country needs help.

It needs military, financial, and humanitarian aid. Until the war is not over, the amount of delivered supply will never be sufficient.

Stand with us, and we will stand on your side.

And believe me: we will give back every support. Multiple times. But help us end this war because we also protect you from the evil that invaded our country” – he concluded.

Klitschko competed from 1996 to 2017. He held the world heavyweight championship twice, including the unified WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, IBO, and Ring magazine titles. A strategic and intelligent boxer, Klitschko is considered to be one of the best heavyweight champions of all time. He was known for his exceptional knockout power, using a strong jab, straight right hand and left hook, quick hand speed, athleticism, as well as great footwork and mobility, unusual for boxers of his size – Wikipedia writes.

  1. I suspect Orban knows that Ukraine commited this act to try and garner support for its self in the global media. The Ukraine Government is very corrupt and Orban knows the likelyhood of this massacre being a self inflicted deliberate act is very high. The sad part of this is the innocent victims. The people of Ukraine are good people. Their US installed government are not good people. All of this suffering was caused by the meddling of the US in the 2014 coup backed by the Americans. The blood of every victim is on the hands of the US Government.

  2. The Bucha event is clouded in mystery, even until now. Both sides have claimed the other side did it. The UK vetoed the Russian request for a full UN investigation. There was no good reason for stopping that investigation so I (as a UK citizen) am highly suspicious of claims the Russians did it.
